Mugs for my work

August 30, 2021

So I made mugs, espresso cups, and pen holders for the people at my company. They came out amazing. I'm guessing I'll end up having to make another batch.

Halloween jewelry and gnomes

August 29, 2021

Waiting for the kiln to cool today. You know what would be an awesome add on for kilns - cameras inside so you could see what’s happening. I know a lot of potters who would definitely pay for that.

My waiting for bisque shelves are already full. I might try to do a bisque before we leave next weekend for Jessica Putnam Phillips workshop. I might even have two bisque. The Halloween platters are large. The three of them might take up most of a load themselves

Made some Halloween/fall themed jewelry today.

Also tried out my new gnome stamps and cutters from De La Designs. They are so cute.

Finished a sweater this weekend too. Pictures coming soon.

My first crochet shirt design

August 25, 2021

I'm not great at following crochet patterns. I always find some difference that I have to correct for or something that I don't like about the design. However, I have always used some pattern as my base - until now.

A few weeks ago I did my first yolk neck shirt worked from the neck down. I was using a yarn that gradually changed colors and I had a good amount left in the skein. I didn't want to have to worry about the colors looking weird and has this idea to make a shirt back to front. I started with the back, worked up and increased rows to add sleeves, made the neck, decreased the sleeves, and made the front. Then I just sewed up the sides and added a few rows to shape the neck. I'm really excited with how it turned out. My very first design. My first crochet shirt design

Stamps

August 23, 2021

Been a while since I posted. We went up to the cabin for a week. I brought clay and yarn up, but didn't end up touching either. It was a super busy work week and at night I read and went to bed early. We had a nice few days but then it was hot and rainy.

Made some stamps tonight. Been meaning to do that for a while. Some are hand done and a couple I made from silicon molds that I want to invert to make easier to use.

The bisque is cooling right now, but you would never know given these shelves. Those pieces in the bottom right are the ones I put aside to use over glaze decals and luster on. Really need to do that. So much to do so little time.

Two weeks until clay camp, aka workshop with Jessica Putnam Phillips at Clayscapes.
