I feel like I am behind on life. Traveling for my day job 3 days a week is taking a toll on me. Finding the time to manage doing pottery, home life, etc. has just been really difficult. I do more shows in the last 4 months of the year than any other time and it's just been a lot.
I spent the whole weekend glazing and this is the first of likely 3 kiln openings coming. This one has a lot of mugs, some holiday stuff, and a few other things that have been on the shelves for a while. I'm really excited by my little snowmen on the top.
Speaking of shows - the Howard County Craft Spectacular is this Friday October 31st, Saturday November 1st, and Sunday November 2nd at the Howard County Fairgrounds. Hope to see you there if you're local.

I think I might be ready for my fall shows. I'm still a little stressed about managing this and traveling, but at this point there is not much more I can do about it. I'm pleased with this last kiln load, especially the second cherry plate and all the leaves.
I made 2 tests using my new starry night roller that I got. I used all stroke and coats for the main picture and then frosted lemon for the rim and back. I used Carribean Blue, Moody Blue, Tuxedo, Silver Lining, Cotton Tail, Dandelion, Butter Me Up, and Sunkissed. No idea when this will get in the kiln, I didn't finish before I ran the kiln and what I have left isn't a full kiln.
The next few weeks are going to be busy! First, working a lot. Traveling for work 3 days a week has meant a whole lot of adjustments in my schedule. Second, going to visit the in-laws in Oregon for a long weekend. Then we are going back to the cabin. AND...August is GONE. First week in September will be the Brandywine show in Delaware!

I love the cherry plate, it was an idea I had with some new sponge brushes I got in a giant pack from Amazon. The vase with the leaf came out way better than the flop of a plate with the leaf. Everything else is gearing up for fall shows.
