Garden stack assembly

July 25, 2021

The last of my garden stack came out of the kiln last night. Craig and I went to Lowe's to get the stuff to assemble it. Ended up getting this pot at a new store called At Home which also had some awesome placemats for texture (will be posting on that soon). I took a workshop with Maria Sampson through ClayShare a couple months ago and have been slowly creating pieces. I am so thrilled with how this came out and am already planning the next one. We need one I. Chaumont right?

Menagerie

July 17, 2021

First time I've tried to bring clay up to Chaumont. It's been raining all day so I made a menagerie. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Basically just went through this book and made each one, or at least the ones I liked. The bear and the dog didn't make it, need to practice those some more. Got halfway through the book.

More lily pad making

July 13, 2021

After a weekend of canning I got my hands back into clay last night. I've been keeping the lily pads in the refrigerator so they were mostly still good. Most leaves will keep in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks.

I made the tallest thing I've ever made using the ClayShare wrapped vase class.

Octagon shirt

July 12, 2021

Finished a new shirt this weekend. First time I've made an octagon. Shirt is loosely based on this pattern lillabjorncrochet.com. The yarn was a really cool 6 color color way from Fiber Optic Yarns.

Summer jam

July 11, 2021

>Went to Baugher's orchard yesterday with the grandkids. Was expecting peaches, but ended up picking nectarines and plums. Still got some peaches from their market. Spent last night and this morning making jams and other things. Nectarine lime, peach bourbon, spiced plum, nutmeg peach butter, plums in honey syrup, nectarine butter, and a couple more I'm forgetting. Have a few plums left that are super ripe and so amazing and some peaches I'm going to turn into a pie later this week. Finishing up the last two and then I need to do some weeding in the garden. Hopefully also have some time to go play with clay.

leftover yarn shrug

July 08, 2021

So I had some leftover yarn from me layered tank top that I made last week in Chaumont. I didn't think that it needed another layer with grey. It ended up in this cute little shrug with green and mauve trim. Used my crochet stitch dictionary again. Fast becoming a favorite book.
