Gnomes!

November 30, 2021

So I have made a couple of gnomes previously using Michael Harbridge's cones, but this was the first time I had sculpted one. I intended to make one or two and before I knew it I made 10. Gnomes!

Kiln Results 11/20

November 27, 2021

I can't believe its been a week and I forgot to post these! Monday and Tuesday were a good amount of meetings shoved into two days. Wednesday I got my booster shot and glazed. Then I spent Thursday sleeping. Friday I felt like I had to catch up on stuff then all of a sudden week is gone!
I've actually got another set of pics from a second kiln load I need to post as well (coming tomorrow or Monday). I was able to use several of these straight out of the kiln and onto the Thanksgiving table.
Not pictured is a bunch of jewelry I made and gave away to family who came to our pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving last Saturday.

Thanksgiving Kiln Opening

November 21, 2021

Quickly unloaded the kiln yesterday before Thanksgiving. I know what you're thinking, Thanksgiving is next Thursday. You're right, except I moved it to suit my needs. We kept it small this year, just family. It's amazing how easy cooking for 9 is when you're used to 25. Made all the old favorites, but tried a new pie (salted caramel chocolate pecan), new dinner rolls, and new gravy. Turned out really well.

I also feel like I'm getting really good at puff pastry. I used it for the baked Brie and for the McDonald's like apple pie.

I do wish I thought to take a picture of the table because I used all of my pottery as serving dishes. I used several of my test tiles as little butter servers.

Real picture coming soon, but I took some quick ones. Made everyone thanksgiving jewelry. Thanksgiving Kiln Opening

Granny square shawl

November 19, 2021

This yarn didn't know what it wanted to be. It started out as a poncho but ended up as a shawl. I'm really happy with it.

Had some leftover yarn so I made a puppy hat. Who wears it better?
