Clay Camp Day 4

September 09, 2021

Today started with a composite vase demo. A composite vase is made of multiple sections that are darted to fit together. This seemed insanely complicated, but once Jessica explained how it was actually much simpler than I imagined.

I'm happy with this as my first try. Still needs a handle I think. I need to refine it a bit more.

We also worked on our surface decoration of the pieces we've been making all week. Still working on that. More pictures later.

In the afternoon we went to the Everson Museum and saw their ceramics collection. They have one of the most famous pieces in the world - the Scarab.

Some of my other favorite pieces.
